1.4003 STAINLESS
We are the World’s largest stockholder and processor of 1.4003 Stainless Steel sheet and plate!
Available in thicknesses from 1mm - 30mm, we also have an in-house, purpose-built, cut-to-length line capable of processing coils into industry standard lengths, without the need for welding to best suit production and processing capabilities.
1.4003 is a utility ferritic Stainless Steel that offers all the benefits of traditional Stainless Steel such as strength, corrosion and abrasion resistance, durability, and low maintenance, but it also provides additional benefits such as good weldability and formability making it capable of fabrication by conventional techniques.
Sheet & Plate Stocks
With Stainless Steel coil widths of 1000mm, 1250mm and 1500mm in stock from 1.2mm to 5mm thick, we can supply bespoke sheets up to 10M long:
2000 x 1000 in thicknesses from 1mm - 6mm
2500 x 1250 in thicknesses from 1mm - 12mm
3000 x 1500 in thicknesses from 1.2mm - 30mm
6000 x 1500 in thicknesses from 3mm - 30mm
1.4003 is also available in both square and rectangular box section
Cut to Length Line
With cut-to-length stainless steel sheets, you can streamline your manufacturing processes as optimised lengths are crucial for applications where tight tolerances are required depending on your specific needs and project requirements. Purchasing sheets in custom lengths also minimises material waste since you only buy the amount required for your project, which is both cost-effective and environmentally friendly.
Cut to Length Benefits
Precision and Consistency
Custom cutting ensures precision and consistency in the dimensions of each sheet.
Increased Efficiency
Ideal for industries where time is a critical factor in meeting project deadlines.
Reduced Processing
Avoid additional steps such as cutting, which can be prone to errors and may require extra machinery.
Market Sectors
Due to its numerous benefits, 1.4003 stainless steel can be used in several applications across a wide range of industries.
Here are just some of the most popular uses:
Enclosures – such as broadband telecoms boxes
Vehicle frames & chassis – on trucks, buses & gritters
Tanks & containers – including nuclear waste boxes
Construction – for walkways, stairs & railings
1.4003 does not depend upon expensive alloying elements like Nickel and Molybdenum and therefore has a low-cost advantage compared to other corrosion-resisting materials. It is proven to offer lower life cycle costs than traditional materials where corrosion and abrasion affect service conditions.
1.4003 is also included in the specifications EN 10088-2, EN 10028-7 and ASM A240 UNS S214003.
